Why This Site Exists
In my third year at university, I remember sitting in the library two weeks before finals, trying to figure out what mark I needed on my dissertation to secure a 2:1. I had a calculator, my module handbook, and three different browser tabs open — none of which agreed with each other.
I couldn't find a single tool that was free, worked properly, understood UK credit-weighted grades, and didn't require me to create an account. So after I graduated, I built one.
UniGradeCalculator.uk launched as a side project with one goal: give every UK university student a fast, reliable, no-fuss way to understand exactly where they stand academically — and what they need to do to get where they want to be.
Who Runs This Site
This site is run by a UK university graduate with a background in mathematics and computer science. The grade calculation formulas used across this site are based directly on the standard weighted average methodology published by UK higher education institutions, including guidance from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
Every calculator has been checked against real student transcripts and verified against the calculation methods used by multiple UK universities — including institutions that use 20-credit, 15-credit, and 10-credit module structures.
This site is entirely self-funded and has no affiliation with any university, exam board, or commercial organisation. We don't sell courses, don't accept sponsored content, and don't show pop-up ads. The site is supported by standard display advertising, which lets us keep everything free.
What Makes Our Calculators Different
✅ Built for UK Grading
Most grade calculators online are built for the US GPA system. Ours are built around the UK credit-weighted average and degree classification system — First, 2:1, 2:2, Third — the way your university actually calculates it.
✅ No Sign-up. Ever.
You should not have to create an account to find out what mark you need in your final exam. We don't ask for your email, your name, or anything else. Enter your grades, get your result.
✅ Transparent Formulas
Every calculator on this site shows you the formula it uses. You can verify the maths yourself. We don't hide anything behind black-box algorithms — weighted average is weighted average.
✅ Works for Any Year
Whether you're calculating Year 2 modules, Year 3 modules, or combining both years to estimate your final degree grade, the tool handles it. Just enter the m
